A special tour..
Vespa is an Italian line of scooters manufactured by Piaggio, which is Europe’s largest manufacturer of two-wheeled vehicles and the world’s fourth largest motorcycle manufacturer by unit sales. Piaggio was originally a (war) airplane builder, who after the second world war was not allowed to build any more airplanes. This is also the reason why Piaggio decided to turn their product line into a scooter fabric.
In the meantime the name ‘Vespa’ became more than just a scooter: it’s also a modern myth, a fashion statement and a symbol of stylish personal transportation. Throughout the decennia Vespa has evolved to be a way of life within our current society. Could you still imagine the ancient city centre of Rome without these famous Vespa’s?
